In the last few years, the golf industry has created a first-step program called Get Golf Ready. In five 90-minute lessons, local PGA and LPGA pros teach you the basics on etiquette, putting, swinging the club, and getting you out on the course.
The Golf Fore Red™ charity golf tournament was created in 2007 Shelley French and Mary Robinson, two women who had been friends for nearly 40 years and who had both lost their mothers to heart disease. They decided to honor their mothers by bringing women together on a theme of education, friend-raising and fund-raising. Profits from the event go to the Seattle affiliate of the American Heart Association (AHA).
